I love a good mystery!

Okay, so I was WRONG about the roses, but I was in the right area, I think...Reno, Nevada..  LOL  It has kept my mind preoccupied.  This is a good thing!  My CT of my lungs is tomorrow and I am hoping my lung nodules look the same size.  The word CANCER is horrible thing.  I know have been lucky with being in remission for 6 years.  I'd like to continue to have Lady Luck on my side.

I have really toughened up here on my own.  I'm pretty proud of myself.  Funds are going to get a bit low when I finish up with my 401K this summer. I'm going to renew my BLS (but not my ACLS and PALS) in case I can land a part time or per diem nursing job with Peninsula College.  There is a new DON.  HR sent her my resume.  I wrote her an email and will follow up if I don't hear from her in the next few weeks.  The name of the game is "follow up." The one thing I have going for me is that I have my Masters in Nursing.

My favorite handyman, Todd, has been whacking away at the forest behind my house.  Just a few more days and we will almost be done.  He is such a kind soul.  i know he worries about me.  I worry about me sometimes, too.  My biggest worry is, "What if I fall, break a hip, etc. with four dogs here that I am responsible for?"

Speaking of responsible for....Trouble came at Christmas time with her breath smelling like a mouse died in her mouth.  Ewwww.  Her teeth look good, but she has severe gingivitis.  She has no lower front teeth because they have already been pulled.  It looks like we need to pull the top front teeth and her canines.  She will be 14 yrs. old May 9th.  What's another $700?

Thankfully, Kilt, the wanderer has been on her best behavior as of late.  I think she just needed to get to know the 'lay of the land.'  I don't have any dog fencing, but I do have topped kennel runs.  After losing her a few times, she has been sticking close by.  She has never shown any separation anxiety, but I think Wayne left them for hours and hours alone in their kennel runs.  They both came at Christmas underweight.  They both don't want to be left alone.  But, they are starting to settle now.  Thank goodness.

So, I spent some $500 on nice steel shelving in the garage.  Tonight I find decent plastic-like shelving that will hold 150 lbs. on each rack from Costco for $25.  Really?  I'm going back to buy another rack for my storage shed.  One can't have enough shelves.  I will have steel shelving for all automotive stuff, and steel shelving for other heavy shit, Costco shelving for dog stuff and I bought a rolling rack for my gardening stuff.

Plus, I bought another $40 in bulbs.  One can't have enough flowers!  I had to blow a few hundred for a pile of mulch from Cascade Bark. It is back in the woods where it is easily assessable to put in my garden beds.  I have been busy, but it didn't come without a cost.

Today I was thinking about the things that have made my life easier here.....Amazon Alexa. I love her.  I can ask her to turn on music for me before I even get my first cup of coffee.  I can leave music on for my dogs when I leave the house.  I can ask her  to let me know when to take food out of the oven that I am cooking and so forth.

The next thing is the touch lamp(s).  I now have two.  It makes it so easy when the house is dark to be able to just touch a lamp to turn it on.  Love, love, love.

Jeanne Boudrieau gave me a Black and Decker LED flashlight that is the best thing since Dungeness crab.  I can see almost a half mile away.   Yes, I have LED flood lamps on the side of the house, but this flashlight is the BEST I have ever owned.

Girlfriends.  What would I do without the fabulous girlfriends I have?  I am a lucky lady.  I speak my mind. I'm sure I can be a pain in the ass, but I LOVE my girlfriends. And my family, my brother and family, my son and family, and my grandson and family.  I'm a lucky woman.  Plus, I have friends male and female that I have been friends with for decades.

And, my sheepdog acquaintances.  The majority of them are above and beyond fabulous.  Y'all know who you are.  There is a once in awhile an idiot or two, but that is true for everyone you meet in life.  But, BC people are the BEST.  Well, DOG people are the BEST.  I thank you for being my friends!

I love the elk....my wonderful elk.  I feed them apples now :0)

I love the marina only being 2 miles from my house

I love my water color class. best therapy ever.

Okay, I could rattle on and on, but I think I will end it here.

Amy, did you send me the roses?  LOL....I'm zoning in, I think.  Way fun :)

Good girl, you are counting your blessings! All the best to you tomorrow:)
My sister (widowed) also worries sometimes, the same as you, being on her own with two old border collie crosses and one young lumbering Lab. Will the dogs gnaw on her legs after she falls down the stairs and isn't able to feed them....?;-)

Great post, Suzanne - I like the upbeat tone. I'll be thinking of you today as you undergo your scan, and hoping for the very best news.

I wish I had sent the roses, but it wasn't me. I am so glad you got them, though!!

Fight On, Girl!

The mystery continues. It's driving me crazy, but I'm flattered that someone (whomever you are) cared enough to send me flowers. 💝 Pretty fun. I am still thinking it was a girlfriend. I have two more long time girlfriends to rule out. My first intuition and the Reno, Nevada tripped me up. LOL

The nice part about the roses is that it has kept my mind busy. Thank-you!
