My mind is made up....

This last fire almost killed me.  I think it did in old Xena.  Time for  change.....

This small poster is behind some 'fake' shutters at the end of our stair case coming to the first floor of our home.
I bet I put this there almost 20 years ago.  I am a spontaneous person.  My husband is not.  I am a spiritual person.  My husband is not.  So there we have it.  Some 20 years later, Suzanne is taking the bull by the horns and moving.  It might take awhile, but the wheels have been greased and are turning.

Where are we moving to?  After much studying.....studying the amount of rainfall, climate year round, I have chosen Sequim, WA.  Wayne and I were up there some 10 years ago and loved the place.  I wanted to move there then.  I even found a place that was gorgeous with 8 acres for $160,000.  I'm not going to find that place today at that price, but I'm moving anyway.

What did Wayne have to say about it?  Nothing.  He knows I mean business this time.  He has 30 years in at Lockheed.  Job well done.  Good-bye.  He was hoping for 35 yrs.  If he stays, he will be doing the last 5 yrs. on his own.  I think deep down inside, he knows it is time to move, too.

I don't want a farm.  Good meaning friends have been telling me about lots of acreage for sale up and down the Oregon coast.  Maybe 20 years ago, but not at almost 64 yrs. of age. No, someone else can have the farm. :0)  I'm down to 4 Border Collies, 1, 5, 9 and 13 yrs. old and an 11 yr. old JRT.

I do want some privacy and some acreage.  I think it is doable.  Even 1-3 acres would be fine.  Most of all, I'd like a house and garage that requires little maintenance.  Wayne is tired of watering plants and trees throughout the hot summer months here in Green Valley.  I'm tired of the fire and dust.  We live in a gorgeous, scenic small town with fabulous people, but it is time for a change.

Ta-daaaa!

Alrighty then.  Lots to do.  I have already contacted friends and realtors in Sequim.  I have 3 realtors working to find us the right place.  I have 9 days off the 3rd week in July and I will drive to Sequim.  I have already looked at 100 homes with some land that the realtors have sent me.  We need to stay in a certain price range, but I think we can find what we are looking for.

The weather might be a bit cool for some, but not for me.  It may even be a bit cool for Wayne.  But, I'm tired of hearing him bitch about the heat :0)  Important that we don't get too little rain or too much rain.  PURRFECT....20 inches of annual rainfall.  The average temp is in the 60s.  Lots of gray days in the rain shadow.  They call it the rain shadow of the northwest, because for some reason (surely the mountains) it misses all the huge deluges of rain.

Read about the discovery trail at the above link.

There is going to be so much for us and the dogs to do there.  Plus, I will have MOUNTAINS and WATER.  Praise the Lord.  I can't wait.
