The Letterman show flew Jet, me, and my grandson business class from LA to NY. They picked us up in a Limo and took us to a fancy hotel right on Central Park. The flight for the 3 of us cost $13,000 (Yikes) and he had to audition to get on (unbeknown to me). I couldn't imagine someone paying all that money and then "not" putting us on the show. Whew...sweated a little there for a moment. Thankfully, we went on and had a GREAT time.
Oh, what did Jet do? He said his prayers on a stool and then was asked to pray a little harder (dropping his head way low) for Dave's monologue. From there he rolled up in a blanket and hid.
Doesn't sound like much.....but, the floor was slick as ice and the band was a few feet from Jet. Jet was just in recovery from being lost in a forest fire for several days. He is a bit shy anyway, so this was a real feat in itself flying to New York to do Letterman.
P.S. I said I wouldn't do the show unless they flew my then 11 yr. old grandson Dustin with us since he wanted to see new York. It was after 911. Thankfully, they agreed.
