JALAMA

We saved a box of presents from friends and family and opened them on Christmas morning.  It was a beautiful morning.  It rained for about 20 minutes and then it was gorgeous the rest of the day.  The winter mornings in Jalama always take on a pink glow.

Me and the 3 old dogs down by the tributary out on a morning walk.

This is the view from our trailer window.  It only rained a short while and then we were treated to whales and a pod of dolphin that played in the surf the whole time we ate breakfast.  I get really excited.  My binoculars are always within reach and people several campsites down could hear me yell 'Thar she blows.'  I love to spot whales.

A hearty breakfast along with a Saporro beer.  I always have a beer for breakfast when I am at Jalama.  I have been doing it for over 30 years :0)

This reminds me of a fairytale.  The castle like hill on the right is Vandenberg Airforce base.  And, yes, we have been there to watch launches in the past.  The Airforce base reminds me of some mid-evil castle in the distance.

Wayne posing with Xena, Trouble, and Jet.  Merry Christmas.

Xena enjoyed wading in the tributary run off

Plus, look at the old gal jumping that sandy cliff.  Not too shabby for 14 plus.

Xena and Jet did a few run downs for old times sake :0)

There is so much to do and see at the beach.  Here is a blue heron wading and eating in the tributary.

Here is Mr. Heron with some wood ducks

A group of Egrets stopped in for a visit :0)

Jet mustered up a good run at the birds. Funny, that Jet and his daughter, Yoko, both love to chase the birds.  Kilt and her son Champ could care less.

Champ and I enjoying our nightly campfire.

What's a campfire without marshmellows?  I ate more than my fair share of toasted marshmellows.  My teeth still hurt.

Sun going down on another fabulous Christmas at Jalama.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
