Busy, Busy, Busy

Busy, Busy, Busy   EVERYWHERE.  The construction guys are here tearing out our bathrooms, upstairs and downstairs.  Full bath and half bath.  So, the only place we can shower is in the trailers.  Yuck.  We have 2-3 weeks of this, but just think how nice they will be when they are done.  This house is some 35 years old and some of the dry wall in the bathroom by the shower was falling apart.  Our tub was one of those old fiberglass tubs that would never come clean no matter how long you scrubbed. The toilets were on the low side.  Both Wayne and are are tall.  It was time that we do something about it.
Next we will do the kitchen counter and sink.  That is pretty grimy, too.
In all actuality, I can live in a cabin with a dirt floor if it weren't for spiders and mice.  LOL  I don't like crawly things.  But, the rest of the place can be falling down around me and it truly doesn't bother me.  Must just be my personality.  I'm just happy to have a roof over my head and to be alive.  I have priorities!
Busy, Busy, Busy with dog trialing at the moment, too.  I'm going to Task farms for a ranch trial with Jet and Yoko tomorrow.  They are going to run first, because then I am off for Sacramento, Dunnigan Hills to be exact.  I am taking Kilt and Yoko;  Kilt for the open classes and Yo for the pro-novice classes.  I wanted to take Champ for socialization, but Sacramento has had a recent outbreak of leptospirosis and I don't vaccinate for that bacteria.  I feel safe with the older dogs, but not so safe taking a pup under 6 months.  I haven't been to Dunnigan hills in 3 years.  Huge rolling green hills...very pastoral, very good for the soul!  I probably will come home on Tuesday.  It takes me about 6 1/2 hours to get there.
Busy, Busy, Busy with Wednesday, back to work.  We are now doing open hearts at where I work.  I was appointed part of the open heart team for my unit.  God only knows why, since I try to work part time.  They just don't want me to retire!  I should be in the cath lab today watching a few cases, but instead, I am taking Yoko and Kilt to a vaccination clinic to get their first part of two rattlesnake vaccines.  I am just vaccinating those two since I am taking them to New Mexico at the end of the month for a big sheep dog trial.  Yes, we have rattlers here, but where I will be trialing in large open dry fields of New Mexico makes me want the girls to have a little extra protection.  Last year there was a rattler on the trial field and the year I went to this trial, someone had one of their dogs bit next to the trial field.  Better be (somewhat) safe than sorry.
I really don't like to put all of these vaccines in my dogs.  I personally think it is overkill.  But, I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.  I feel the same way about people vaccines.  Whole nother blog.....:0)
Hey, I think there is another geese trial coming up for the Jetster.  He is pretty arthritic up front these days and I think he has lost his embarrassment about working geese.  Plus, they are just his speed :0)
Wish me safe travels to Zamora tomorrow afternoon.  My truck is really getting old.  I just haven't had time to look for a replacement!
