Sunny day on Santa Cruz Island

Some of the steeper trails up to the top of the bluffs had some stairs (thank-you).  I already had a hyper-extended knee from a Border Collie hitting me at high speed several weeks earlier.

Once up top it was a bit of a stroll.  We all climbed out of our jeans and put on our shorts that we had in our packs.  Thank goodness, we put in shorts and sunblock.  Dustin said he didn't need any sun tan lotion because "He was a TEXAN."  I said, about half way through the hike, "Hey, YOU from TEXAS, if you don't want to go back to med school looking like a lobster, I suggest you put some number 70 block on."  He put it on.  Too late.  He was already lobster-ized.  LOL  Kids.......MEN!

Kind of like Pismo Beach.  Clear water and beautiful swaying kelp beds with the tides.
I get mesmerized just watching them move back and forth, back and forth, back and forth....

I found a nice person to get a photo of the three of us.

I
We hiked clear out on that point.  Beautiful.

This is the place we settled on to have our lunch.  The water was Caribbean blue-green and the sea lions barked on and off.  The weather could not have been nicer.

Tomorrow I'll give you a glimpse of the red fox I got photos of :0)
