Jet at almost 11 yrs. old is sporting quite the coat this year!
Okay, this is another advertisement folks. I was at a trial the other day and a friend was telling me about this AMAZING dog brush he had. He went on and on about how well it shed out (groomed) his dogs coats. Next thing I know, not several minutes later, ANOTHER friend came over to me and said, "Have you ever heard about the 'furminator?' I had to laugh out loud. "Why, yes, just a few minutes ago!"
She said I have it with me in my truck, "Want to try it?"
I had Yoko with me and a wind was blowing northerly so I took Yoko over to a picnic table so her "fur" would blow away from all of the competitors. After using the "furminator" for about 5 minutes I was SOLD.
Fur was flying everywhere. Yoko has a medium coat. I can't wait to see how it will do on old Jet. I almost was thinking about clipping him this year, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Plus, I know his coat also protects him from the hot sun.
The dog I really can't wait to try it on is our LABRADOR. Xena is a shedding machine. Talk about a waterproof undercoat. I can't even get the dog wet. She seems to shed all year round. It drives me crazy.
So, as soon as I got home from the trial I bought myself a TWIN pack of FURMINATORS on line at Amazon.com. I'm eagerly awaiting their arrival.
Now, I know it doesn't look like much, but believe me it is AMAZING.
Xena says, "Hey, I'm getting fur in my eyes."
It's work amazingly well with long coats, cats, and horses, too.

I won one of the small blue ones in a raffle prize at an agility trial. With Calli at this time of the year it seems like I could go on forever, and still keep getting hair out.
It works well on Smudge (cat) too, and I use it on Jake's back half, where he has lots of undercoat.
Don't use it on Luna, she really has no undercoat and is too bony:)

LOL. Furminator is a great tool but gotta know when to say "when" - had a few clients bring their dogs in for "bald spots." On more careful questioning realized they had all just gotten new Furminators and in their vigor created the "bald spots" (thin spots) themselves, then not noticed them til the coat stood down in a day or so LOL.
