Yoko doing a blind outrun in the desert.

Less than 2 minute video of Yoko doing a blind outrun in the desert.  This was before the age of 2.  As most of you know I train my dogs on my sheep ONLY during the winter months in the desert.   Really, all they need are a few winter months allowing them to develop their own outrunning style.  Plus, I let them stretch out to 600 yds.  I have learned....don't mess with Mrs. Murphy...if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.  At the age of 2 when I came back the next winter with Yoko I felt like she had forgotten all of her outrun training.  I was a bit frantic and wrote to Bob Stephens of the Border Collie Boards for advice.  I take his advice very seriously, but decided not to mess with "Mrs. Murphy" and sure enough by a month into working in the desert she retained all of her previous skills.  Thank God, I kept my mouth shut. :0)
I start my dogs out using a diamond pattern, but when I think they understand, I let them figure it out and keep my mouth shut.  Letting them stretch out further distances helps them figure out where they need to be.  A most interesting hobby, for sure. :0)  And, Jeanne B, if you are reading this, you need to spend at least 10 days with me in the winter!
