The ugly stick versus the magic stick

Sue MacDonald said,

"We also had a great raffle full of wonderful items and would like to thank everyone that contributed. George put one of his crooks in the raffle and it was won by Suzanne Anaya."

I said as they announced the winner of the crook, "If there is a God, please let me win this." And, "the winner is YOKO." I was grinning from ear to ear.

Then I overheard that people called this crook, "the ugly stick" because it was one of his first handmade crooks and it had some imperfections. Do I care about imperfections? Doubtful. I'm still thrilled.

Plus, I call it "the magic stick," because Kilt was the first one I used it with and she got her first open points. So there! The wood is hazelnut and there is scottish black face horn and chinese water baffalo horn that make up the top part.
