Snow dogs

So sad that the road is closed to the Trail of the 100 Giants.  They don't plow beyond this point.  We will have to wait until next year.  This is where the Ponderosas, Redwoods and Sequoias are grouped together and it is most incredible.  You feel like a tiny ant walking among these century old trees.  It is so quiet you can hear a pin drop.  It's one of my most favorite walks ever.
Trail of a Hundred Giants is located within the Long Meadow Giant Sequoia Grove, the second most southern grove where giant sequoias are found. The Grove contains 125 giant sequoias over 10 feet in diameter and 143 sequoias under 10 feet in diameter. The largest tree in the grove has a diameter of 20 feet and is 220 feet in height. The grove encompasses 355 acres. It is estimated the age of the trees in the grove are between 500 to 1,500 years old.   Oh well, next year.

Meanwhile, let the snow games begin!  Jet and Xena are my SNOWDOGS.  They love it.

Krazy Kilt is always up for some speedy fun.  Can you tell that she is happy?

Baby Yo is up for the snow games to begin, too.  She tore a pad, but it didn't phase her too much.

Xena Beanie said, "Hooray for the snow."  She did run downs like she was two yrs. old.

Trouble had her snowcoat on, but then her toes began to get numb.  She had alot to say.

And, our guests, Keira and Ty enjoyed themselves in the snow, too!

An icy and wintry waterfall coming back from the upper Kern in the mountains.

Lichen on the rock formations.

A light snow covered the lower Kern (the south fork).  It made for some pretty sights.
