When Kilt was shipped to us from Canada at 3 1/2 mos. of age (after) 15 hours of flying here and there with layovers, she got out of the crate throwing a tug toy in the air. Yep, that's our Kiltster.
Yep, we've gained a bit of weight
From her fighting weight of 34.6 lbs to 42.8 lbs....8 pounds heavier.
What? You want your seat back? I can't have the last of your coffee cake?
I'm counting today as day 57 from the last breeding. We bred her AI a week earlier due to a Vet's recommendation. She was in full standing heat a week later and I had to drive back to Sacramento AGAIN. The Vet actually credited my account after I wrote him a (not nasty, but informative) note about his hasty recommendation and his stand alone vaginal cytology without progesterone testing.
We would like to wait another 4 days. I'm guessing she took on the last breeding, my 2nd trip to Sacramento. The things we do for our dogs, eh?
We think we count 5 puppies in the oven. Really, Kilt is not as big as she was with 6 puppies in her first litter. But, the last few weeks she has been packing on some tonnage. It hasn't affected her play time, but I sure did see her slow down working her stock. I had to shhhhhus her the first time ever driving her sheep!
LOL at Laura who is in line for a puppy. When I emailed her the x-ray she said, "All I can see is a duck!"
You know what.....I think I see a duck in there, too :0)
Suzy Applegate said, "Let's take bets on her due date." I don't think I want to bet AGAINST my husband. Wayne said she was EIGHT pounds heavier and with FIVE pups. He was right on the money. He believes she will whelp on Monday the 19th. We'll see. Suzy guesses Tues. or Wed. Any time AFTER the weekend will be fine with me.
With Kilt's first litter, she started having pups with just a couple of hours of panting before hand. We plan to keep a closer watch on her this time!
Are you ready? I'm not.

Have fun with the puppies once they arrive. Just remember that the first time her temp drops to 99 or below that you are looking at puppies arriving anywhere from 24 - 36 hours later. She will reach the point of hating it when you come "at" her with the thermometer.
I think that I might almost see six puppies in their. Time will tell. Good luck on the whelping.
Kathy...funny you say that. My girlfriend told me she counted 6 little vertebrae. Well, at least I know there isn't ONE very large duck in there. LOL
I'm glad I can just 'watch' and enjoy it from the sidelines, and not feel the stress that you are feeling:)
'Cousin' Luna wishes Kilt all the best!
Ahhh Karen; couldn't we switch places just for a few weeks? I'm sure Kilt would like to switch places with Luna, too!
I swear that I can see six spines and six little skulls. We'll see if I'm off or not.
I count six heads....
Yep, the nurses at work count six, too. Soooo exciting!
